Overview

Scott B. Saulls

As a workers’ compensation defense attorney, I draw on my deep understanding of corporate needs to help employers navigate the complexities of workplace injuries. My focus is on providing strategic legal counsel that not only protects employers’ bottom lines but also supports workers in returning to their jobs so they can continue to provide for their families.

Scott Saulls is a dedicated workers’ compensation defense attorney at Wallace Mann Capener Bishop & Debney, P.C., bringing a wealth of experience from his extensive career in corporate law. Scott’s journey into the legal field is unique, beginning with a strong foundation in chemistry, where he worked for seven years in an environmental and industrial hygiene laboratory. However, his desire to expand his influence beyond the confines of the lab, leverage his experience with government agencies, and become a key decision-maker in business operations led him to pursue a career in law. Scott sought to be the strategist behind the scenes—offering advice, pulling the strings, and ultimately leading within a business context. Legal practice became the path that allowed him to achieve these goals.

Scott has spent over 20 years as corporate counsel for technology-based companies, during which he honed his skills in legal counsel, business management, and executive leadership. His expertise extends beyond the courtroom, having served as Corporate President at Orenco Systems Inc., where he navigated complex business challenges, including a ransomware attack that threatened the company. Scott’s ability to mediate and resolve internal conflicts among stakeholders and resolve external challenges underscores his strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.

At WMCBD, Scott is known for his analytical approach and dedication to uncovering the root causes behind workers’ compensation claims, leveraging his inquisitive scientific nature and extensive legal background to achieve favorable outcomes for his clients.

Outside of his legal practice, Scott is deeply committed to service, having held various leadership roles in his church and community, including serving as a missionary in Washington D.C., as the leader of his local congregation for five years and as President of the Sutherlin Area Chamber of Commerce. He enjoys woodworking, a skill he has developed through a long-term home remodel project, and cherishes time spent with his family, including his wife, three grown children and their spouses, and two grandchildren. One of his most cherished traditions is gathering with his family for game nights.
