Overview

Maddie R. Anderson

My goal in every case is to bring clarity to complex situations. Workers’ compensation involves medical uncertainty, evolving facts, and fast-moving decisions, and clients rely on us to make sense of all of it. I take pride in organizing that complexity, understanding the nuances, and translating it into a resolution strategy that is both fair and defensible. When clients feel grounded and supported, that’s when I know I’ve done my job well.

Maddie Anderson is an associate attorney at Wallace Mann Capener Bishop & Debney, P.C., where she focuses exclusively on workers’ compensation defense. Known for her thoughtful approach and analytical precision, Maddie is drawn to the unique intersection of law, medicine, and real-world impact that defines this field. She takes pride in navigating complex factual records and statutory frameworks to help employers and insurers reach fair, efficient resolutions.

Maddie’s interest in the law began with a fascination for how language shapes outcomes. She enjoys starting from first principles—breaking down statutory language, understanding how each word functions, and applying that structure to the facts of a case. That analytical mindset guides her work today, where she excels at turning dense medical and procedural information into clear, confident strategies.

Before joining WMCBD, Maddie gained substantial litigation experience with several Oregon firms, including Brownstein Rask LLP and Davis Galm Law Firm. There, she drafted complaints, motions, discovery, and legal memoranda; and conducted extensive research. These hands-on roles in fast-paced environments sharpened her ability to balance precision with pragmatism, a skill essential to the timely resolution of workers’ compensation claims.

Originally from California, Maddie earned her J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School, where she developed a strong foundation in statutory interpretation and practical litigation. She also holds a B.A. in Political Science from Sacramento State University, which she completed in just three years while maintaining a strong academic record.

She approaches every matter with diligence, empathy, and respect for the people behind each case, qualities that make her a valued member of WMCBD’s collaborative team.

Outside the office, Maddie enjoys spending time with her American Bull Terrier, Steve, and staying active through running and hiking. A lifelong animal lover, she’s often surrounded by dogs—at one point sharing her home with four— and values the energy and grounding that come from life outside of work.
