Life as a WMCBD Attorney
Newly Admitted Attorneys
Are you seeking to take a substantive role immediately in client cases? At WMCBD, all firm attorneys – including recent law school graduates – take significant roles in working with clients. We believe strongly in mentoring new attorneys so that they are able to develop their skills, and to assume progressively higher positions with clients as their skills develop.
Senior Attorneys
Many of the attorneys who join WMCBD have substantial legal experience – both in workers’ compensation law, as well as commercial litigation, personal injury law, and other practices.
We recognize that the valuable experience that attorneys offer, even if that experience is not in workers’ compensation defense.
Challenging Work
Most of our representation involves workers’ compensation defense. In this area, attorneys are engaged on a daily basis in learning about the interaction between workers’ compensation law and the physiology relating to the injuries suffered by the employees of our clients. This interaction – and learning about treatments, rehabilitation, and medical prognosis – provides an intellectually challenging area in which to practice.
As attorneys gain knowledge about these components, they are quickly learn about questions to ask regarding treatment, work limitations, and other matters. With this expertise, attorneys become strong advocates for clients in seeking the optimal outcomes.
Our Clients – We Represent Leading Businesses and Clients Nationwide
At WMCBD, we have developed a nationwide reputation as a leading workers’ compensation defense firm. We represent top companies – including some of the largest employers in the United States – as well as innovative start-ups and long-established companies. Our clients depend upon us for education, effective representation, and developing proactive solutions when possible to help further their business interests.
Associate Compensation and Benefits
We offer attorneys competitive salaries, as well as a quarterly bonus, paid time off, medical and vision coverage, a 401(k) plus match, disability insurance, and maternity leave.
Life Outside the Office
Our attorneys are serious about life outside the office. In addition to family activities, our attorneys have a wide variety of interests and engage in numerous activities, including golf, hiking in our fantastic Pacific Northwest, and traveling. We are active in the community, we serve on the boards of charities and philanthropic organizations, and we serve in youth sports programs as coaches.
We’re also big sports fans. We are season ticket holders for the both the Seattle Seahawks and the Portland Trailblazers; these tickets are frequently made available to associate attorneys and staff members.
